New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, currently on a 3,500 km “Bharat Jodo Yatra” across the country has taken the center stage, owing to his fitness levels.
Doing push-up challenges, climbing atop tanks, carrying children on his shoulders, and even not wearing a sweater in the biting north Indian cold – all this while walking 25 km every day has put a spotlight on the star Congress leader.
Those who accompanied Gandhi in his yatra have also claimed that they find it difficult to match his stride. So, what is the reason behind the 52-year-old scion of Congress party?
According to news reports, not only Rahul, but the whole Gandhi family is fond of meditation. Rahul believes in spirituality and often visits various meditation institutes. Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala had told media persons that Rahul considers meditative spirituality to be “very enlightening and calming”.
Also, Rahul maintains a rigorous and regular workout schedule, which includes a 12-km run every alternate day. “Even if he gets free at midnight, he’ll come home, wash up, and go for a run,” said Randeep Surjewala, a Congress spokesperson said.
Recently, a journalist tweeted a picture of Rahul, while on the Haryana leg of his yatra, eating healthy snacks that consisted of roasted makhanas, mixed nuts, and dry fruits.
